Considering at one point I wanted to stop reading this book (when Sarah was having intrusive, violating, and horrific nightmares), I am 100% glad that I decided to keep going! I tend to enjoy thrillers with a dark theme, especially with a main character who really goes through the worst of it only to come out on top against all odds. I think the only part that was hard for me was the terrible nightmares that are described that made my stomach turn a little. But I just had to know how she would overcome it and everything that happened to this poor but incredible girl.
What I loved the most is that Sarah wouldn’t quit, not even when the whole world was seemingly against her. But time and time again, Sarah takes what should be impossible and she finds it in herself to overcome it anyway. As if the word ‘impossible’ was not a word in her vocabulary.
The ending of the book was satisfying but it certainly leaves you craving to read the next book in the series. There are still adversaries that Sarah must hunt down before they hunt her down first. And one who has been captured but could still pose a very real and deadly threat! I very much look forward to reading the next book because nothing can keep Sarah down.
Let’s just start off my talking about Sarah’s character.. I mean she was giving me Wonder Woman and Elsa vibes because strong, brave and beautiful like the Wonder Woman and she has this icy energy (ice daggers) like Elsa which was a win-win! I’m most impressed by the character development of this book. The author has really taken his time and put in the effort to build the characters.
